A modern twist on an Italian wedding. From the red trolley that chauffeured the bridal party around the city, to the ultimate dance off at the end of the night, this was a very special day. We can’t wait to see the good looking babies from this couple.

This wedding was fun + classic, just like the couple!

- The guests singing songs with the word “Love” in it to get the couple to kiss

- Two of the groomsmen re-enactment the story of how Colin + Amor met and fell in love

- The very cool bamboo guest favors (ours is still alive and well!)

Absolutely fun! It was all about throwing some traditions to the wind, while holding others very close. At 380 guests, this has been one of our biggest weddings to date!

Ivory Room’s favorite memories of this day:

- working with Hong Photography (We LOVE working with Ellen + Brian)

- influencing our first “green” wedding favor – reusable shopping bags!

- the fun reception games and the out-going guests that participated (see pics below)

- the feel good vibes from DJ Bles-sed and DJ P-Luv (We’ve never received such positive feedback on music!!)

The searing heat from the sun did not affect the cool couple as they celebrated their day their way.

Simple + easy were the key words when planning the wedding. It was the perfect blend of family tradition and simple elegance. The pictures are beautiful and reflect the couple’s love of art and photography.

Celine + Allan are a creative couple, very involved in music + dance. We wouldn’t expect anything less at their wedding! We think this was the first time we were referred to as “the adopted daughter” in a thank-you speech!

Ivory Room’s favorite memories of this day:

- Allan’s gift to Celine as she was getting ready in the morning – Heart Themed Nike Air Max 90s.

- Celine’s surprise dance for Allan at the reception (with the help of FlowEthics)

- The entertaining entrance of the bridal party. They did a traditional Filipino dance called Tinikling…well they tried!

We’d love to shout out to our friends, Heather + Chris of Spark Photography for doing an amazing job. We love working you guys.

What a spectacular Summer wedding season! We are breathing a sigh of relief knowing that we were a part of some amazing weddings that we’re so proud of.

“We hired Melissa as our wedding coordinator after a friend from work raved about what an incredible job she did at her wedding. After a few lovely e-mails back and forth, I met Melissa for the first time over a casual coffee and right away I was impressed by her calm nature, friendliness, knowledge, and great organizational skills! I really can’t say enough about how incredible Melissa was in helping our wedding day run so perfectly. She did a beautiful job setting up our reception room, assembling our centerpieces, putting out our guest favours, and really just captured the simple yet elegant look I had wanted! She ensured our DJ was cued at all the right moments and because of her, our ceremony (which we never did a rehearsal for!) ran perfectly! She was always there when we needed her, and I can honestly say that there was not a single hiccup to the day! I recommended her when my best friend got married, and I would highly recommend her again and again! Thank you Melissa for really making our wedding day perfect!!”

- Mina’s speech that included her “finding toys in Justin’s pants”

- the entertaining “Chinese or Family Member” game they played to determined who got to attack the buffet first!

- Mina’s amazing wedding dress that was hand made by her mother. Mina made the bridesmaids dresses!

“We hired Melissa to be our day-of wedding coordinator for our outdoor wedding in June 2007. She was absolutely amazing, and went above and beyond what I had imagined she would do. She singlehandedly set up the entire patio area with our snack and drink buffet, cocktail tables, patio tables, and decor. She arranged our makeshift “aisle”, took care of all the music, and kept everything tidy and running smoothly the entire afternoon and evening! She was discreet and efficient, and we were so pleased that she was there to help. Come cleanup time, she was on top of everything, making sure all the rentals and our belongings were put away in the proper place, and not leaving until every last detail was sorted out. We would highly recommend her to coordinate and help plan any wedding”

The wedding was crisp and simple; a product of the creative bride + groom. A cocktail reception followed a romantic ceremony under the canopy of some of the largest trees in Vanier Park.

- the candy buffet station! Can’t say we didn’t steal a Jelly Belly or two =)

- the intimate ceremony with their beautiful son, Oliver

- Lesley’s “something blue” silk dress…breathtaking!

Side note: Lesley, the creative bride has started up her own line of handmade this + thats. Check out smidgebox.blogspot.com for more information on Lesley’s designs. She has grown her talent into a fruitful and creative outlet. Well done!!
